| December 19:
It was a fine day for sailing. It started very light, but the average
windspeed for the races was probably in the 6-8 knots range. For the first
three it was easterly and for the last two it was southerly. Tim B found a
way to get water in his boat, but there were no capsizals. Nelson (moi?) won
his first race day in about 15 years, notwithstanding the absence of the
"big two". Gordon won the first and third races, but had to retire
due to more pressing business. Rollie picked up the second, Nelson the
fourth and Gary the last. Picking the shifts and getting good starts was
key. Bob was also in the running until the last race when he lost a couple
of places on the last leg, but finished with a daily second. |
